Well, I don't have any pictures, but since I was showing someone else this blog, I figured I would provide an update.

As many of you already know I created a head casting (more like a bust) of myself. I attached that to the pike you see in the pictures below and filled it with foam. I have sorta succeeded. I bought cheep foam that requires access to air to dry. Next time I will buy the good stuff that will self dry in a vacum if required.

Anyways, the head on the pike looks pretty bad right now, but hopefully within 2 weeks after free comic book day I will have the head cleaned up and the first layer of clay on it.

I'll see if I can't find a picture and post one in a few days.

OK, It's been a while since an update.

In one of my last updates I created a plaster bandage cheep head mold. Well last night I took that mold and created a head on a pike with rebar head tails. I am waiting on more pictures, but here is a start.

Hello once again.

Today I picked up a 4.5 lb brick of oil based clay for $13.50 after my discount. I plan to use this small amount of clay to make my first attempt at sculpting. It will be an Emperor.

Tonight Clay and others will also be giving me a hand making a second head bust. This time it will be much less detailed and will be made only from plaster bandages. I will then cut wholes in the back of the mold to fit over the rebar lekku previously created and then pour in foam for the head. I hope to have something to start sculpting to by the end of the weekend.

I found a good site on making ovens. I will most likely need to build my own for baking the foam latex.
